Overview

Position: Learning Center Program Tutor
Department:
Learning Center

Availability of Position: Immediately

Supervises: Volunteers, Students         

Schedule: Part Time, up to 19 hours weekly - Monday to Thursday 3 P.M to 8:30 P.M. Friday 3 P.M. to 6 P.M., school year
Reporting Relationship:
Learning Center Director

Salary and Grade: $13.00 per hour; 71 Non-Exempt

Description of Position: This position involves assistance in learning programs and regular ongoing homework assistance when necessary to Your City students.

Responsibilities

Duties:

  • Assist students with nightly homework following established procedures when needed.
  • Communicate regularly with the Learning Center Director.
  • Follow and enforce discipline policy of the Learning Center.
  • Maintain a clean working environment.
  • Attend all trainings and staff meetings.
  • Ability to keep confidential information.
  • Implement daily program that has been set while following the schedule as closely as possible.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year working with students in a learning environment.
  • Strong interest in reading, math, science, and technology
  • Good Communication Skills.
  • Strong Work Ethic.
  • Organizational Skills.
  • Flexible
  • Basic Technology Skills
  • As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment with recurrent training required every five years thereafter.
  • Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check.
