Overview

Position: Anti-Trafficking Milieu Worker

Department: Philadelphia Social Service Ministries, New Day Program, Philadelphia, PA

Availability of Position: Immediate (1 position available)

Schedule: Part-time Plus up to 29 hours weekly; Mon-Wed 9:00 a.m.-5:00p.m.; Thursdays 5:00pm-9:00pm

Reporting Relationship: Supervisor Clinical Case Manager

Salary and Grade: $17/hour; 74 Non-Exempt

Position Overview: The New Day Milieu Worker (NDMW) will work at the Drop in center to ensure onsite duties are completed during hours of operation. The NDMW will be responsible for assisting in the daily functioning of the drop-in center, coordinating access to resources for all women entering the drop in, as well as provide ongoing crisis intervention and leadership during the hours of the drop in.

Responsibilities

Description of Position:

 

The New Day Milieu Worker will maintain the drop-in center as a safe space for all clients and perform the following duties:

  • Provide information and referral services for women coming through the New Day drop in center location.
  • Submit monthly statistical report for internal reporting, and external to the New Day Drop-In Coordinator.
  • Monitor and perform the operations of the New Day drop in with the New Day Drop-In Coordinator, New Day Stop Trafficking Case Manager, volunteers and interns.
  • Conduct Initial screening and intake of newly identified victims of HT and ensure all coordinated referrals are made.
  • Provide culturally sensitive and trauma informed services for the women entering the drop in program.
  • Open and close the drop in center during the hours of operation. Responsible for setting the alarm and locking the center after the shift ends.
  • Participate in the ongoing planning and development process and tasks of the New Day Drop-In team.
  • Keep up to date case notes and ensure client confidentiality in all forms of communication.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in a human-services related field
  • Experience with program administration and community organizing work.
  • Experience with working directly with victims of commercial sexual exploitation or domestic violence, or may be a survivor of sexual exploitation.
  • Must have reliable transportation to travel from site to site as may be needed in the performance of duties.
  • Professional-level communications skills.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred
  • As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment with recurrent training required every five years thereafter.
  • Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check with renewal of clearances every 5 years thereafter.
  • Must have an understanding of, appreciation for, and support the Mission of The Salvation Army.
