The Resident Assistant provides support to Booth Haven residents and creates a hospitable and safe environment in the shelter. We have several part time positions available - 1,2,3 days per week.  B & C shifts (2:45 p.m.-11:15 p.m. and 10:45 p.m. - 7:15 a.m.)

1. Provide support to shelter residents.
2. Monitor the activities of the residents within the shelter environment.
3. Monitor the physical facility by making rounds every half hour and conducting periodic inspections to ensure rooms are clean, facility is secure and that clients are abiding by house rules.
4. Make referrals to alternative emergency shelter providers when Program beds are unavailable.
5. Maintain basic record keeping responsibilities. This includes performing electronic intakes in the database and completing accurate time sheets in a timely manner. Check your individual work email daily.
6. Attend and participate in Resident/Staff meetings.
7. Implement emergency procedures to assure safety of residents and staff, when required.
8. Attend relevant In-Service training/conferences, as requested.
9. Complete all mandatory training (in-person and online) in a timely manner.
10. Clean linens, maintain cleanliness of facility (inside and perimeter).
11. Other duties as assigned

1. Minimum of High School Diploma/GED will be reviewed. Associated Degree preferred.
2. Crisis intervention, interpersonal and communication skills needed.
3. Ability to work in a continually changing and challenging environment.
4. Flexibility in personal work schedule. Must be available for relief hours as needed.
5. Basic computer skills required for completion of intakes, time sheets, email, daily logs.
