The Salvation Army's Adult Rehabilitation Centers make a difference in people's lives. Through the collection and resale of gently used goods we are able to provide the financial support to assist men and women with a variety of social and spiritual afflictions. The in-residence rehabilitation program focuses on basic necessities with every man or woman being provided a clean and healthy living environment, good food, work therapy, leisure time activities, group and individual counseling, and spiritual direction. All our effort is focused on developing life skills and a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. More than just a job, each member of the team contributes to recycling goods that literally recycle and repair broken lives.

The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center is seeking a Cook to prepare and cook food, uphold health and safety standards, and track inventory.

Duties and responsibilities include maintaining safe and sanitary conditions in the kitchen, dining room and related storage areas, maintaining a posted schedule to ensure the kitchen is adequately staffed at all times, and maintaining an up-to-date inventory of all food and supplies. The Cook will ensure that all menus are followed, food is properly prepared, meals are served on time, and food is properly rotated with leftovers being used as quickly as possible.  The Cook will also check freezers and refrigerators daily, ensure the security of the kitchen and stock, assist with time cards for kitchen personnel, and assist in planning and determining food quantities as necessary.

The successful candidate will have a high school diploma, equivalent, or relevant work experience, knowledge of kitchen and experience with food preparation for large groups, ability to follow directions and lead a team, and a certificate of completion of ServSafe or government program/training for kitchen safety.
