Overview

Location: CONNRI Lodge (Ashford, CT)

Status: Non-exempt, Part-time

Hours Per Week: 23.5– 26

Schedule: January – June & Mid-August – November = Sunday, 1:00 pm – 8:00 pm; Wednesday & Thursday, 8:30 am – 6:00 pm (includes two 15-minute paid breaks per day)

July – Early-August = Monday & Saturday, 8:30 am – 6:00 pm; Friday, 1:00 pm – 8:00 pm; Saturday (includes two 15-minute paid breaks per day)

Scope & Purpose of Position: Responsible for keeping the CONNRI Lodge clean, stocked, and organized.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a positive and professional representative of The Salvation Army.
  • Gather bed linens for laundry service pick-up.
  • Make beds as needed.
  • Gather, wash, fold, redistribute, and store towels, washcloths, and linens as needed
  • Keep the laundry room neat and organized.
  • Sweep and mop floors as needed or requested.
  • Vacuum floors and spot clean stains as necessary.
  • Clean and disinfect toilets, mirrors, counters, sinks, doors, light switches, trash cans, doorknobs, tables, chairs, kitchen equipment, and kitchen surfaces.
  • Empty trash and replace trash bags.
  • Stock guest rooms with needed supplies, including replacing lightbulbs as required.
  • Ensure rooms, including drawers, are cleaned when guests check out.
  • Clean and polish furniture and dust and remove cobwebs as necessary.
  • Clean windows at least monthly and ensure the windowsills and air conditioners are wiped down and dust-free.
  • Organize common spaces and keep beverage counter and equipment clean.

Qualifications

  • Must embrace, support, and reflect well on The Salvation Army’s mission and values.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Proven experience as a cleaner or housekeeper is required.
  • Ability to safely and correctly clean with solid attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Self-motivated and dependable.
  • Strong time-management skills.
  • A positive can-do attitude.
  • Must complete KeepSAfe and other training requirements upon hire.
  • Will understand, respect, and promote the interest of The Salvation Army. The individual is not required to embrace the tenets of faith, but he/she is required to promote and respect the mission of The Salvation Army.
