Overview

The Salvation Army’s Springfield Corps is hiring a Program Coordinator to work Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. 

 

QUALIFCATIONS

  • A college student, preferably a college graduate with an associate degree working towards a bachelor’s degree
  • Experience in social work, psychology, interpersonal communication, or crisis/personal counseling preferred
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Must be able to operate office equipment
  • Must be able to effectively communicate, verbal and written
  • Must be able to work independently, have confidence and be able to handle pressure
  • Must be able to make decision that will ultimately affect people’s lives

Pay rate: $20/hr

Hours: 15 - 20 per week

 

The Program Coordinator assists the director with daily activities, review weekly lesson plans, coordinate with area colleges and graduate programs and recruit interns and volunteers.

  1. Work as needed as a liaison between the Salvation Army and program partners.
  2. Develop programs and course descriptions
  3. Recruit and recommend program speakers
  4. Process intakes and run class lists
  5. Schedule program activities
  6. Evaluate programs and make recommendations
  7. Submit payroll for the BTG program when needed
  8. Exercise judgment in choosing the approach to solve client’s problem by analysis of data and input from Director of Social Services or Program Director.
  9. Maintains a roster of community resources for referring clients to available services at other agencies.
  10. Supplies clients with information regarding services or programs within the Salvation Army
  11. Completes case notes for each client, which may include typing and filing.
  12. Maintains records according to agency regulation
  13. Attends meetings as directed.
  14. Completes any other related duties specified by supervisor or commanding officers.
  15. Maintain frequent contact with organizations, which directly influence the Army’s reputation or performance.
  16. Work is pre-planned by or approved by supervisor; progress checked at intervals.
  17. Perform other related duties as requested
