Overview

Position: Divisional Senior Accountant

Department: Finance

Availability of Position: Immediate  

Schedule: Full time 40 hours per week; Monday to Friday

Reporting Relationship: Assistant Controller

Supervises: Service Extension Accountant, Divisional Junior Accountant, Lead A/P & A/R for C.A.S.T.

Salary and Grade: $72,000.00 per year; Exempt, Grade 15

Position Overview:

Responsible for all accounting functions of the divisional funds including general, divisional deposits, service extension & camp.  Manage the C.A.S.T. data entry activity through the Lead Bookkeeper.

Responsibilities

Description of Position:       

  1. Review monthly financials to perform account analyses, journaling adjustments as required.
  2. Supervise the Service Extension Accountant.
  3. Supervise the Leads responsible for all staff involved in corps revenue & expense data entry.
  4. Oversee the supervision of all DHQ-fund clerical staff involved in accounting functions including accounts payable, data processing and accounts receivable/cashier.
  5. Prepare fiscal closing worksheets and statements for all DHQ non-Philadelphia September 30 year-end operating closings.
  6. Coordinate and prepare work papers for the divisional audit by Territorial auditors. Prepare response to audit finding by collecting responses from various personnel.
  7. Supervise the reconciliation of all divisional fund bank statements by reviewing stale dated outstanding checks and all reconciling items.
  8. Assist the Assistant Controller in preparing various analyses for the divisional consolidation.
  9. Prepare other reports, analyses and accounting functions necessary for the continued efficient operation of the department.
  10. Process payroll reports for units, upload file, and fund payroll.
  11. Provide oversight and monitor Wells Fargo CEO activity.
  12. Prepare information for 1099 processing.
  13. Performs related duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

Requirements:        

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is required. 
  • At least four years of accounting experience in a computerized accounting environment. Non-profit accounting experience in a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills along with good oral and written communication skills are required.
  • Must have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
