Position Description: The Congregational Life Staff Assistant (CLSA) will provide assistance to the Congregational Life Corps Officers by performing general duties throughout the Corps. The CLSA will assist program leaders in all areas of Corps programming, provide leadership for outreach activities, ensure setup/tear down of program areas, give oversight to ongoing and special activities, perform clerical/recordkeeping duties and assist in keeping the Corps neat and orderly. This position will include the development and implementation of programs at the Corps including small groups, youth and adult Bible programs. The CLSA will also coordinate and implement transportation and evangelizing in the community. This is a Salvation Army ministry position that requires active participation in the overall Kroc worship experience.
Requirements: High School Graduate, college in related ministry field preferred. At least one year of progressive experience as a Mentor. Must be able to function in a fast-paced, frequently changing work environment. Must possess or be willing to learn excellent customer service skills. Must be able to stand for long periods of time. The successful candidate will have he have ability to work well with others while responding to direction and feedback. Must be able to read, write, and clearly communicate in English. This position requires the ability to function effectively with minimal supervision. Must be able to remain calm in escalating circumstances. Must possess the ability to work with diverse ethnic and socio-economic populations. Must have a valid Driver’s License with ability to operate vehicles in company fleet (those without a valid driver’s license need not apply). As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment with recurrent training required every three years thereafter. Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check. Must possess an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
