Overview

The Positions will communicate and model The Salvation Anny's mission, doctrine, teachings, and principles to individuals and groups alike in order to enhance and promote Christian music within The Salvation Army GNY Division in relation to music programming. The youth and music Programs work in an office environment with frequent interruptions, multiple deadlines, and competing priorities. Work environment includes managing projects with conflicting requirements and tight deadlines. This is a part-time, non-exempt position. The positions will interact with church adult groups, Christian leaders, and will be required to help develop program and leadership materials. It is essential that the applicant believe in, and live their life in, accordance with the Christian principles set forth by The Salvation Anny.

Responsibilities

  • Administrative-related job skills and music ministry and programming of Corps including but not limited to piano and vocal music in cooperation with Divisional Headquarters. Lead such groups where necessary and develop new leadership of existing or future groups.
  • Coordinate Star Search and Divisional Arts Ministry participation
  • Encourage youth participation in divisional creative arts and musical programs.
  • Prepare, develop and maintain programs and ministries to enhance the healthy spiritual, physical, and emotional development of those under your influence.
  • Be effective in all aspects of ministry to equip adults with their musical gifts and abilities in serving God in and through The Salvation Anny
  • Keep and record statistical information pertaining to al I youth and music and creative a1ts programs at the corps and participants in divisional groups.

Qualifications

  • College background diploma and relevant professional experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to use MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines; prioritize tasks appropriately.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Accurate with attention to details and well-organized.
  • Must be a uniform wearing Salvationist with a commitment to evangelical outreach and discipleship.
  • Must have teaching, and musical skills and able to teach others.
  • Must have experience working with Adult Group.
  • Self-motivated, well-organized, demonstrates initiative, able to prioritize responsibility and lead others.
