Overview

Position:   Major Gifts Associate

Department: Development; Divisional Headquarters, 701 N. Broad Street, Philadelphia

Availability of Position:  Immediate

Schedule: Full-Time; 35 hours per week; Monday-Friday 8:30 – 4:00                                  

Reporting Relationship:  Director of Major Gifts and Donor Relations Directors

Salary and Grade: $22.75 per hour; 76 Non Exempt

Responsibilities

Position Overview: This position is a highly responsible administrative and resource development support position, reporting to the DMG and supporting the DRDs.

 

Job Duties:

Primary responsibilities include assisting the Donor Relations Directors with moves management through database maintenance, recordkeeping, prospect research, event coordination and correspondence development and donor communication.

 

The above list of job duties is not exclusive or exhaustive and the candidate will be required to undertake such tasks as may reasonably be expected within the scope of the post.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalency.
  • Ability to work independently and with good initiative and judgment, under direction of Director of Major Gifts.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
  • Excellent communication, math and, especially, writing skills.
  • Must be well-organized with an ability to prioritize and complete assignments within a given timeframe.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of conducting research and preparing data; internet research and database research skills.
  • Computer proficient, with strong competence and experience with Microsoft Office programs, especially Word, Excel, and Salesforce databases; comfortable with online proposal development and submissions.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check.
  • Must have an understanding of and embrace the mission of The Salvation Army and be able to cogently articulate that mission in communications with funders and prospective funders.
