Title: Corps Custodian
Location: West Chester, PA Corps, 101 East Market St
Reports To: Family Services Administrator & Commanding Officer
Availability: Immediate
Schedule: Part-Time; Monday to Friday 9:00am to 2:00pm
Salary and Grade: $12.00 per hour; 71 Non-Exempt

Position Overview: Maintain and clean the interior and exterior of the Salvation Army property building. Interact with staff, volunteers and clients. Must be available to load and unload supplies from the truck for the Salvation Army. Must be able to work during inclement weather.
Description of Position: Cleans and provides upkeep for spaces and buildings, performs basic repairs, maintains cleaning supplies, operates cleaning equipment for the Salvation Army of West Chester.
Duties:
*Collect all trash from around the building including all offices, upstairs and downstairs.
*Clean all seven bathrooms daily.
*Put trash out every for pick up on specific days.
*Dust and vacuum chapel weekly.
*Strip and wax floors as need in Corps and Railton House and maintain building.
*Clean and wash all floors in the Salvation Army facility including the kitchen.
*Cut grass and weed the lawn as needed during the summer
*Wash windows and sills inside and out.
*Clean lobby and keep gym floor clean (mop and sweep) daily.
*Odd jobs to assist staff and volunteers during Food Drive and Christmas.
*Shoveling snow and salting the outside and around the building including parking lot during snowstorms.
* Respond to emergency calls including during inclement weather.

Requirements:
High school diploma or GED; Prior Cleaning Experience 2 years minimum. Must have a driver’s license with a clean driving record. Knowledge of various electrical and cleaning equipment is preferred. As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment with recurrent training required every five years thereafter. Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check. Must have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
