Overview

Title: Caseworker

Department: The Salvation Army’s Kirby Family House, Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania    

Reports To: Kirby Family House Program Director and Corps Officers    

Availability: Immediate

Schedule:  Full-Time; 8 AM to 4 PM; Monday-Friday

Salary and Grade: $17.00 per hour; 75 Non-Exempt

Responsibilities

The Caseworker will assist the Program Director in coordinating the day-to-day activities of the program. Primary responsibility will be facilitating resident progress with individualized goal planning. With guidance from the Director, the Caseworker will be responsible for ensuring that program participants comply with employment, budgeting, life skills, goal planning, and all other requirements of the program. With guidance from the Director, the Caseworker will ensure that program participants have the resources needed to complete individual goal plans, including but not limited to, connectedness to mainstream resources, housing, and community outreach programs.

Qualifications

BSW or BA/BS degree in related field of study. A minimum of 2 years Social Work experience required.  As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment with recurrent training required every five years thereafter. Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check. Applicant must have an understanding of and an appreciation for The Mission of The Salvation Army.
