Position: Office Assistant

Department: Coatesville Corps

Availability of Position: Immediate

Schedule: Part Time Plus (20 hours)

Reporting Relationship: Corps Officers

Salary and Grade: $15.00 per hour; 72 Non- Exempt

Responsibilities

Description of Position:

The function of the Office Assistant includes greeting customers and staff, answering, screening and directing all calls, and taking messages. This position will also direct incoming mail, maintain office supply inventory and must acquire a full knowledge of all services provided by The Salvation Army Coatesville Programs. In addition, this position will assist the Corps Officers with scheduling the Christmas interviews, keeping records, and other clerical duties. They will also work directly with Officers and provide administration support and handle any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  •  High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Bilingual (English-Spanish) preferred
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills
  • Knowledge of computers, Microsoft Word, filing and general office procedures.
  • Must have an understanding and appreciation the Mission of The Salvation Army
  • As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment with recurrent training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment with recurrent training required every five years thereafter. Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check.
  • While an appreciation for, and understanding of, the philosophy and mission of The Salvation Army is required, being an active Salvationist is a plus.
